Meet Your Agent
Our agents aim to provide streamlined service that makes your life and schedule easier to deal with. If you're sick of being put on hold, getting the runaround, or never getting the auto quote you called about, then you've come to the right place. Peacock Vaughn Insurance is small enough to provide personalized service, and smart enough to research any questions or problems we can't answer. Buying insurance shouldn't feel like buying a car; that's why we keep you in the loop.
John C. Peacock
John C. Peacock is our senior broker and agent. He is also the owner of the corporation and the physical agency. He began with Harold Vaughn in 1981, and implemented the agency's current computer management system. John has a great deal of experience with homeowners, auto, and commercial lines of insurance. He has also maintained relationships with preferred Northwest markets, and admitted brokerages.
On his off time John enjoys competitive bird hunting. He assists in running his bird dog club, which travels around to field trials all over the Northwest. John is also a very active member of Clarkston's Rotary club, and the city's chamber of commerce. He recently assisted in decorating the Clarkston downtown for Christmas, spending several days getting the lights ready for the holidays.
John believes in conducting business ethically. He makes sure the younger agents recognize its importance, and why honesty promotes our insureds' feeling of security. He also provides a wealth of supervisorial experience, which helps our younger agents gain the confidence and wisdom to sell insurance properly. John looks forward to leading Peacock Vaughn insurance into the future, on the right path.
Barbara Bird
Barbara started her insurance career in 1964, working in the Company License Department of the West Virginia Insurance Commission. About six months later, she was moved to the main office and became the commissioner’s receptionist, working there for two years until she moved to Orlando, Florida. For the next two years Barbara worked for Seibel’s, Bruce & Co, and rated Workmen’s Compensation policies. In 1978 Barbara moved to Idaho, and in August of 1979 she went to work for Vaughn Insurance in Lewiston. Barb got her property and casualty insurance agent’s license in 1996, and when the office in Lewiston was sold, she moved to Harold Vaughn Insurance in Clarkston, which became Peacock Vaughn Insurance. Barb works mostly with personal lines coverages, and enjoys working with our various company personnel, and our clients.
When Barb is off work she enjoys the outdoors and can often be found working in her vegetable garden, or tending to her flowers. Barbara loves fishing and camping, or listening to music and dancing on her off time. She also likes to spend time with her great grand children, and her cat and two dogs. Barb's remaining time is spent with her membership in the Eastern Star and Women of the Moose .
Barb believes insurance coverage is extremely important. Her primary job is to help all of our customers get the very best coverage they can afford. She also feels an agent needs to be honest, reliable, and someone the insured can depend on when they need help, or have a question about their coverage. You need to act in a professional manner when dealing with the general public, and Barb aims to do this everytime she helps a client.
